The Backstory

Originally called El Dorado, Old Colorado City was always a booming marketplace and the central hub for gold miners and railroad workers back in the 1800s. In 1975, the first Territory Days was held in celebration of Colorado City as the first capital of the Colorado Territory. Since then, it has grown to become the historic center of Colorado Springs and home to over 100 small town galleries, boutiques, museums, and restaurants. And today, Territory Days has transformed into a homegrown street festival that locals and visitors enjoy every year.

From Small Town to Big Time

Many of the booths at Territory Days focus around the craft vendors of the area who sell handmade, specialty items, like Aztec Indian Jewelry, Forest Green Pottery, and Wild West Woods. There will also be plenty of food and drink vendors ranging from Nana’s Famous BBQ & Grill to free tastings of MM Distillery’s Outlaw Whiskey. Plus, a long list of daily entertainment, including live folk, rock, and Motown music and unique activities like a look at the life of Plains Indians with a live tepee demonstration led by Clint Chartier.
